Gratitude of the Day
I’m grateful for... divine appointments. I know you’re looking at this photo and thinking how cute a quick selfie post of folks enjoying the football game. Yes you’re right, we had a blast. However this picture is much meaningful than what you see. Do you see the lady to the right? Well, I grew up in a Baptist church in Dallas Texas which is where I met her, we were both single and awaiting our Boaz. She and I were among many others who shouted and praised the walls down in that place! We both got married and our seasons ended at that church. We kept in touch from time to time on Facebook and they would invite us to their homes around the holidays. Well, when I first started my real estate career in Dallas, I was in dire need of a mentor. I didn’t know where to look as Kenny and I neither had anyone in our life that were dreamers on our level. However, she or her husband were emailing his mentees, confirming appointments as he was giving back to the community and mentoring young black college students along with recent graduates. I received the confirmation notice saying Natasha, I’m confirming the appointment for Art’s meeting with you. I was aghast as I did not have a appointment nor did I know he mentored. I remember responding saying, my name is Natasha Briggs, I never scheduled a appointment but would like to as I had been praying for a mentor to steer me into success. Needless to say, the appointment was scheduled and they were extremely instrumental in our lives during that season. Since then we’ve moved to the New Orleans area. She asked if we were going to the game so we could connect prior as there was no way we would be able to connect in the arena of tens of thousands of people. We meet up for dinner. During dinner we discovered our seats were next to one another! We were blown away! This was not a coincidence it was a Jesus thing! And we recognize that and we are beyond grateful for God-ships. It gets better- do you see the guy in the back? Prior to our family move, the Lord introduced us to he and his mighty woman of God to navigate us safely into this season of our life as family! When you trust the Lord to send friends, He sends family!
