Why You Should Pray Scriptures Daily

The LORD is very clear regarding prayer. Prayer is communicating with GOD. Communication is to share and exchange information, news, or ideas. Prayer is not just us pouring our worries out on GOD. Prayer is also pausing and allowing our maker who loves us so much that he yearns we communicate with Him, speak back to us. We were created to worship GOD. Isaiah 43:21 tells us “the people I formed for myself that they may worship me.” Worship denotes adoration. When you adore someone and have access to them, you will long to talk with them. Communicate with your Heavenly Father and your life will be totally transfigured.

We pray scripture as our Heavenly Father has instructed us “keep this book of law on your lips, meditate on it day and night so you will be careful to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8). The book of law is the Bible. We are to keep the words of the Bible on our lips. The words of the Bible is scripture. When we keep scripture on our lips, we literally open up our mouth and speak the words GOD has spoken over our lives in agreement with what He has planned for us.

The LORD tells us in Isaiah 43:26 put me in remembrance, let us argue this matter together; state the case for your innocence. GOD is showing us the level of authority we have in prayer. We are able to apply what the scripture promises now being GOD’S children. GOD is faithful to do precisely what the Bible teaches us when we remind Him. Yes, GOD is all-knowing and knows what we need before we pray. However, we are in a covenant relationship with GOD and we must do our part as partners with Him.

Sometimes, we don’t know how to pray. Using scriptures teaches us how to pray and what to say. The Bible contains answers for everything we encounter in life. Why stress attempting to come up with eloquent words to pray when GOD has already outlined a prayer for every specific need we lack. Romans 8:26-28 states we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And GOD who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercede for the saints according to the will of God.” It’s vital to know this scripture so when you’re praying, you may say, LORD I don’t know what to pray for today but I want your will for my life. Also, continue and say LORD, you know what I need and begin to groan as you remind GOD of this. He will interpret those groanings into words as HE knows our thoughts.

Finally, GOD has plans for us. In order to know those plans, we must read the BIBLE and pray GOD’s plans over our lives to avoid confusion and stagnation. Proverbs 14:12 says there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. So praying scripture allows us to be in alignment with GOD’S purpose and plans for our life not our owns as we are utterly clueless how to successfully live.

When you pray, pray God’s will by praying scriptures.
