Quick Prayer Before Reading The Bible

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving and choosing me as your child. As I read your words please forgive me for all sins I’ve committed. Remove any hard areas in my heart that keep me from understanding your words. Soften my heart so your words may penetrate my heart. Open the eyes of my heart so I may know the hope to which you have called me. May I perceive the riches of your glorious inheritance as your holy child in every area of my life. Open my eyes and ears to hear you clearly through scripture. May I be holy as you are holy. May I not interpret your word in error. May I be a doer of your word and not just a hearer. Teach me your decrees so I may live them out to the end. Grant me a willing spirit to obey. May I walk by faith and not by sight. Show me great and mighty things which I do not know. Give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding. LORD, one day with you is like a thousand years. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. May my life never be the same after this encounter with you. Speak Lord for your servant is listening in Jesus name. Amen
